The Australian weather forum has reopened to the public on Monday after being closed for over three months following the tragic events in the Middle East.
News Corp Australia understands the forum will reopen as normal following the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s understood a majority of forum members will be offered support and advice as the pandemic continues to fester.
The forum, which had closed in the summer due to a lack of visitors, has been inundated with calls, emails and phone calls from members, who are anxious about the future.
News Corp Australia has asked for a donation of $5,000 to cover staff and staff costs.
“We’re very grateful for the support from our members, and they’re very concerned about the situation in the world,” forum founder and CEO Peter Hogg said.
“It’s very clear to me, and to a great many other people that this is a very complex situation and we’re going to need all the support we can get.”
Hogg said the forum is working with the Department of Health to get a “robust” response to the pandemics, which has so far left many people living with respiratory conditions.
“They’re just really desperate for support, so we’re working with them on a number of fronts,” he said.
